Anthony Hopkins plays a war hero in One Life, and it will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October.

One Life is based on the life of Nicholas Winton, a man who was once described as “the British Oskar Schindler”, due to the fact that he rescued 669 children from the Nazis in the lead up to World War Two. Visiting Prague in 1938, he got as many children out of the country as je could before the borders closed, but remained wracked with guilt over those he could not save.

Anthony Hopkins stars as the older Winter, with Johnny Flynn as the younger version. Lena Olin, Romola Garai, Alex Sharp, Marthe Keller, Jonathan Pryce and Helena Bomham Carter are also in the cast.

James Hawes directs from a acreenplay by Lucinda Coxon and Nick Drake.

One Life will premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on the 12th October, before being released in UK cinemas on the 5th January 2024.
