Androids, drones, and action abound in Outside The Wire featuring Anthony Mackie, and from Escape Plan director Mikael Håfström.
Netflix has launched a trailer to promote its upcoming production with Anthony Mackie, Outside The Wire, which is set to debut on the streaming platform in January. Following Mackie’s work on the second season of Netflix’s Altered Carbon, he has re-teamed with the streaming giant for this upcoming near-future action flick.
The setup certainly sounds interesting. ‘Set in the future, Harp (Damson Idris), a drone pilot, is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for Leo (Anthony Mackie), an android officer, tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do.’
Outside The Wire is directed by Mikael Håfström. Mackie will be hoping that his second collaboration with Netflix is more successful than the first. Altered Carbon was cancelled after its second season, his debut run on the series (although in fairness, Netflix’s ratio for second-season cancellations is abnormally high).
The film is set to launch on January 15th. Until then, you can catch the trailer below.
