Two critically-acclaimed actors, one intriguing story: Searchlight Pictures’ The Menu could be something rather special.

The casting for Searchlight Pictures’ The Menu has just knocked the film up into the ‘highly-anticipated’ category with the announcement that Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes have been cast in the lead roles. The film will be directed by Succession director Mark Mylod, with that show’s showrunner, Adam McKay, producing.

Taylor-Joy’s star continues to rise after her lauded turn in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit. She will next be seen in Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho but she will also be featuring in George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road spin-off, Furiosa.

Taylor-Joy recently revealed that Furiosa was one of four projects that she’d signed onto, with the other three remaining unannounced. It seems that The Menu then, is another one of those projects.

Originally set to be directed by The Descendants’ Alexander Payne and star Emma Stone, the film ‘follows a young couple as they journey to an isolated island to dine at an exclusive restaurant. The restaurant is headed by an acclaimed chef who treats the couple to a lavish tasting experience, with some surprises thrown in along the way.’

It certainly sounds interesting to us, and we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
