Julia Garner stars as a young, somewhat doomed dancer in Natalie Erika James’ Rosemary’s Baby prequel. Take a look at the first Apartment 7A trailer.
I know what you’re thinking. We don’t need a Rosemary’s Baby prequel. I fully agree. The original is perfect, and one of the horror genre’s most influential films. There’s no improving on that, so why even try?
Yet, after watching the trailer for Apartment 7A, I sure want a Rosemary’s Baby prequel.
Take a look at the first Apartment 7A trailer below.
Frustratingly, itās going straight to streaming, appearing on Paramount+ on 27th September. It’s a shame, because the film looks like a visual treat.
Natalie Erika James is in the director’s chair and if we’re going by her previous feature, Relic, we’re in good hands here. Julia Garner stars as the young dancer at the heart of the film, while Dianne Wiest has the difficult task of following in Ruth Gordon’s footsteps as Minnie Castevet.
Here’s the full synopsis to Apartment 7A: An ambitious young dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Julia Garner, Ozark) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but after suffering a devastating injury an older, wealthy couple (Dianne Wiest, I Care a Lot, and Kevin McNally, Pirates of the Caribbean film series) welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford. When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Jim Sturgess, Across the Universe) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true. However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself.

Apartment 7A is the second prequel film to a beloved horror classic we’re getting in 2024. The first one was The First Omen and I had the same concerns about that film. The Omen is perfect, why mess with that? Thankfully, those fears were proven wrong and The First Omen remains one of the year’s best horror flicks. Let’s hope Apartment 7A will deliver on all the promise of that first trailer.
Apartment 7A is available on Paramount+ on 27th September.
