Sharon Horgan’s acclaimed TV show Bad Sisters is returning for a second season and we can expect it to land in November.

We’ve really been spoiler rotten with good telly lately. At the Film Stories headquarters, we’ve been obsessed with The Bear, House Of The Dragon, The Boys and we’re still reeling from the finale of True Detective, which aired months ago.

News have reached our desk that Sharon Horgan’s excellent Bad Sisters is also due to return for a highly anticipated second season and AppleTV+ has just announced that the series will debut its first two episodes on 13th November, followed by weekly episodes. In total, Bad Sisters season 2 consists of eight episodes.

Bad Sisters is a deliciously dark and twisted mix of comedy and thriller, which follows the Garvey sisters, who may or may not have killed a man. The series is a loose adaptation of a Belgian series titled Clan. There’s no trailer to share yet, but you can spy the first official look at the second season at the top of this page.

Here’s a full synopsis, which might prove a little spoilery if you’re new to the show: Bad Sisters season two returns to follow the lives of the Garvey sisters played by Sharon Horgan as ā€˜Eva,ā€™ Anne-Marie Duff as ‘Grace,ā€™ Eva Birthistle as ‘Ursula,ā€™ Sarah Greene as ‘Bibi,’ and Eve Hewson as ‘Becka.’ Two years after the “accidental death” of ‘Grace’s’ abusive husband, the close-knit Garvey sisters may have moved on but when past truths resurface, the ladies are thrust back into the spotlight, suspicions are at an all-time high, lies are told, secrets revealed and the sisters are forced to work out who they can trust.

Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene, and Eve Hewson will all reprise their roles from the first season alongside Horgan. The ensemble cast will also be joined by Fiona Shaw, Owen McDonnell, Daryl McCormick, Thaddea Graham, Barry Ward and Peter Claffey for the new season. Horgan shares a created-by credit with Dave Finkel, and Brett Baer. Bad Sisters was named the Best Drama Series at the 2023 BAFTA Awards.

You can catch up with Bad Sisters season 1 on AppleTV+ now before season 2 debuts on 13th November.
