Bassist Guy Pratt is set to play himself in The Monk, The Mermaid & Molise, and here are the first details.

Guy Pratt has served as bassist in an eclectic variety of musical outfits, from guitar maestro Gary Moore and Pink Floyd to Peter Cetera and Madonna. He also composed the music for the sitcom Spaced.
Now, he’s headlining feature film The Monk, The Mermaid & Molise, which will see the musician play himself, as he is invited to play a series of bass clinics in the Italian region of Molise, run by a super fan. This forces him to confront decisions from his past.
Pratt stars alongside Sally Phillips, Raffaello Degruttola and Ronni Ancona in the movie.
Marcus Shephard will make his directorial debut, working from a screenplay he co-wrote with Pratt.
Unsurprisingly, Pratt will also compose the music, with the promise of contributions from his previous musical collaborators.
The Monk, The Mermaid & Molise is set to shoot in Italy and the UK this year, for release in 2024, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
