Ben Platt stars as a young writer dealing with the loss of his father in the trailer for new film Broken Diamonds.
Ben Platt has more than one emotional mental health themed film coming out this summer. Alongside Dear Evan Hansen, he stars in Broken Diamonds, an independent film that premiered earlier this year at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
In the wake of his father’s death, a twenty-something writer (Platt) sees his dream of moving to Paris put in jeopardy when he’s forced to temporarily take in his wildly unpredictable, mentally ill sister (Lola Kirke, Mistress America). The film comes from the producers of La La Land and is the first feature from screenwriter Steve Waverly and the second feature from director Peter Sattler (Camp X-Ray).
Broken Diamonds is releasing in the states in July, with no current word on a UK release, but we’ll keep you up to date if anything changes.
