BFI London Film Festival has announced their festival dates for 2024 and we’ve already marked our calendars.

It might only be March, but it’s never too late to start looking forward to all the amazing film festivals heading our way this year.

The biggest UK festival, without a doubt, is the BFI London Film Festival. The BFI has today announced this year’s festival dates, so get those diaries ready.

The BFI London Film Festival (or LFF) will take over London from 9th – 20th October. We can expect the usual amount of glitz and glamour once again as Hollywood stars walk the red carpets in Central London, where it usually rains that time of year. Nothing quite like seeing Hollywood’s finest battling gusts of wind while posing for photos.

In recent years, LFF has made a point to extend the festival outside of the capital. We’ve written before about how London-centric the film industry is, so this has been a very welcome effort. LFF has arranged simultaneous screenings of some of their biggest gala films in other cities around the UK, but there’s still more work to be done.

LFF also organises free events. Last year, Marvel fans had the opportunity to watch the first two episodes of Loki season 2 for free.

There’s no confirmation whether LFF will once again organise screenings in other cities or free events and as per the press email, “the exact format of how the festival will be presented is still to be announced.”

In the last few years, LFF has held their big gala premieres at the Southbank Centre. No word on whether LFF will return there once again this year. Last year’s big gala presentations included Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn and Andrew Haigh’s All Of Us Strangers
