The high profile pairing of Brad Pitt and director Joseph Kosinksi has sparked a Hollywood bidding war – with Lewis Hamilton involved.

An untitled racing driver movie with some serious name value behind it has reportedly kicked off a frenzied round of bidding between streaming services as they seek to secure the project.

It’s easy to see why it’s an attractive prospect: Brad Pitt is set to star, with TRON: Legacy and Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski in place to direct. What’s more, producing legend, Jerry Bruckheimer is also said to be on board, as well as racing icon Lewis Hamilton.

It isn’t just the streaming companies that are keen on this one either: Paramount, Sony, MGM and Universal are in the hunt, alongside streamers including Netflix, Apple and Amazon. Reports are stating that even Disney, who rarely buys projects in these days, is keen as well.

Interestingly, Pitt and Kosinski have tried to make a racing movie together before. That film, originally titled Go Like Hell, would become the excellent Ford V Ferrari, but neither man would ultimately be involved. With interest high for this one, it looks like the duo will get their wish this time,  we’ll let you know more as we hear it.
