With Bill & Ted Face The Music heading to cinemas, their first Excellent Adventure is getting a 4K remaster and re-release in August.
Well this is very, very good news. Following the release of the trailer for Bill & Ted Face The Music last month, StudioCanal has now announced plans for a reissue of the film that started it all.
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure will be getting, as you’d expect, a fresh physical media release. But as per the Tweet the studio sent out, it’s going to be released in 4K too for the first time. StudioCanal has fine form for releasing catalogue titles on the Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray format, and its upcoming Flash Gordon release for instance looks pretty much unmissable.
All we know thus far is that the film has been restored, and a release is on the way. We’d guess that it’ll be around August, when the new movie makes it into cinema, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
UPDATE: We’ve got the release date, and it’s soon. August 10th. More details here.
