Netflix has announced that it’s snagged the seventh big screen team-up between director Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham, with the pair reuniting for the upcoming Dogfight.

Guy Ritchie has penned the script for the film, which is going to shoot in early 2027. Jason Statham stars and co-produces too. Inevitably, plot details are relatively under wraps at this stage, but it’s a fair bet for an end of 2027, early 2028 release.

The only logline we’ve got for the movie describes it as a “stylish revenge actioner set in the London criminal underworld”, and it’s fascinating to see such a change of pace for the pair. Arf.

It comes at a time when their sixth collaboration, Viva La Madness, is in post-production, pending a release next year. In fact, Ritchie also has Wife & Dog with Benedict Cumberbatch already scheduled for release in February 2027, so there’s already a bit of a queue there.

The Statham has been busy too. As well as the aforementioned Viva La Madness, he already has a pair of movies lined up for 2027 release. The start of the year brings us the eagerly-awaited (by me, certainly) The Beekeeper 2, and also in post-production is the meta action-comedy Jason Statham Stole My Bike.

Both are very much keeping busy, and Dogfight is basically four movies away for The Stath now, even though he’s only starting to shoot it in a month or two.

Filming will be taking place in the UK, and I’m going to take a swing and suggest that the city of London may well be involved. Apart from that, we’re pretty much in the dark. Expect violence, gruff talking, and a lot of scenes taking place at night. Very much here for it, too.
