The currently untitled Bob Marley biopic has confirmed its cast, with Kingsley Ben-Adir in the lead role. Here are more details.
Bob Marley’s life has so far been the subject of Kevin Macdonald’s superb documentary Marley and the stage musical Get Up, Stand Up.
Finally, he is getting a biopic, following Marley’s tragically short life as he formed The Wailers and popularized reggae music around the world.
Kingsley Ben-Adir will play Marley, with Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita. Newly confirmed cast members include Tosin Cole, Michael Gandolfini, James Norton and Anthony Welsh.
King Richard director Reinaldo Marcus Green is helming the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Zach Baylin. Rita, Ziggy and Cedella Marley will also produce on behalf of Tuff Gong.
We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
