The delayed John Wick spin-off film Ballerina finally gets a trailer, along with a rather unwieldy new title.

The saga of what is now called From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina has been a rather tricky one thus far ā€“ almost as tricky as that new title, which doesnā€™t exactly roll off the tongue, does it? While we understand that Lionsgate is keen to make audiences aware that the new Ana De Armas action film is connected to its series of popular John Wick action films, is that the best its marketing department could come up with?

Lionsgateā€™s marketing folks have already found themselves in trouble recently for relying a bit too much on AI tools and we canā€™t help but wonder if a machine spewed out that clumsy title too.

Anyway, silly titling aside, weā€™re finally getting a fresh trailer for the delayed project which will continue spinning the John Wick franchise out into new creative directions, following the release of the prequel TV series, The Continental.

Len Wiseman has directed the movie, and John Wick’s helmer Chad Stahelski has also reportedly helped out by contributing fresh action sequences for the film (working in conjunction with Wiseman on them, too) during hefty reshoots that saw the filmā€™s release delayed by a year. We also learned back in March that the reshoots would be adding at least two new roles as well.

The film, which stars Ana de Armas as the titular assassin trained in both ballet and stylish violence, will now be released on 6th June 2025. Along with de Armas, weā€™ll get Keanu Reeves making a cameo as the mighty John WIck alongside Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne. The late Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus and Ian McShane also feature. The action is set to take place between the events of the third and fourth Wick films.

The ongoing Wick franchise is one of Lionsgateā€™s most important series, bringing in plenty of cash and offering up a rich world of storytelling potential (even if we do sometimes miss the more contained style of the first film). That means that if the studio intends to keep building out the franchise, it really needs From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina to land. Weā€™ll see how things go next summer, but in the meantime, hereā€™s that trailer below.
