The mystery project Is This Thing On? is being backed by Searchlight and will also feature the talents of Will Arnett.

Bradley Cooper certainly made a splash with A Star Is Born, his 2018 directorial debut. The film would do very well at the box office, giving Cooper plenty of options when selecting his next project. He’s chosen to stay within the field of music for his next project, Maestro, a biopic of the life of Leonard Bernstein. That project is currently in post-production and Cooper has written, directed and is starring in it too.

According to DeadlineCooper has now lined his next project up and will be turning his attention to comedy. He’ll be teaming up with the voice of LEGO Batman himself, Will Arnett, in a project that is being backed by Searchlight Pictures.

Both actors are set to co-star with Arnett having co-written the script with Mark Chappell. Little else is known about it at this point apart from the title. We’re hoping (and expecting) the project will be a comedy but even that is yet to be confirmed.

Cooper is expected to have a pass at the script too, according to the report but we’d imagine that any more rewrites will have to wait until the US writers’ strike ends. It could be a while before we har anything else on this one. In the meantime though, you can next see Arnett in the long-overdue Taika Waititi comedy, Next Goal Wins at the end of the year. Cooper’s Maestro is also expected to release sometime in 2023.
