Some terrific-sound 1940s film noirs have been brought to Blu-ray with a whole host of extra features: more here.
Some of the best collections of vintage thrillers and overlooked films have come in the assorted Noir boxsets that have been put together by Indicator. It’s thus far released four boxsets of film noirs from the Columbia Pictures archive, and now we learn that a second collection has been pulled together from the Universal archives too.
The films in the brand new set are 1945’s Lady On A Train, Time Out Of Mind (1947), Singapore (1947), both A Woman’s Vengeance and An Act Of Murder from 1948, and The Lady Gambles from 1949.
Even better, not just have all of these films been remastered and put on Blu-ray for what we think is the first time, they’re also accompanied by a huge selection of extra features too. Terrific stuff. We’ve not seen the set, but have bought all the others, and they’re a genuine treat. Sadly, they’ve not paid us to say that.
The set goes on sale from September 18th, and you can find out more information on it – or buy a copy – right here.
