British movie podcast of the week: FilmBusters

Welcome to our new weekly spot where we salute someone else’s podcast – and we’re starting with the FilmBusters.

Paul Mayers, Adam Ferguson & Ben Murray met while working at the BBC and bonded over their shared love of Film & TV, but more importantly the lively debates that came from that shared love of Film & TV. They wanted to put their heads together and create something out of this passion and focus their creative energy into something they could put out to the world, but also just wanted a reason to get together and chat about movies!

So, a couple of years ago, they created the FilmBusters podcast.

Paul, Adam and Ben clearly have a deep rooted friendship, and their chemistry really gives the podcast a nice dynamic. They even have their own characters: The Comic Nerd (Paul) with his deep passion for DC Comics and a huge love for Batman, The Angry Critic (Adam) who just wants to have an argument when they don’t agree with him and The Film Snob (Ben) with his articulate taste in film, as well as a tendency to just hate the films you love.

Each has their own tastes and they generally tend not to agree on anything which causes disagreements, often ending comedically. Each host has their own particular passions for the sort of movies they like and dislike which they express, often in detail. Discussions can get heated but nothing is ever taken personally. It always feels like a genuine conversation between friends.

If you like open, honest, frank, uncensored discussions about popular films with a variety of opinions, FilmBusters is very much for you.

Recommended episode: Toy Story 4 (26 June 2019) – (please note this episode contains spoilers for Toy Story 4!)
