Neil Marshall’s next film will be psychological thriller Compulsion – here are the plot and casting details.
Neil Marshall made his name with a string of successful horror films like
Dog Soldiers and
The Descent. While he found little success with the 2019 reboot of
Hellboy, he returned to his roots for the last couple of films, including last year’s
The Lair.
He is currently busy filming action thriller
Duchess, but his next film after that has now been confirmed as
Compulsion.
According to Deadline, the plot will follow “the dynamically twisted relationship between two women, as both become embroiled in a series of horrific murders on the island of Malta. Diana is described as a flamboyant and ruthless thief; Evie, a seemingly innocent young woman with a troubled past and a dark secret.”
He will reunite with
The Lair actress Charlotte Kirk, who will star opposite Anna-Maria Sieklucka. The cast also includes Zach McGowan, Giulia Gorietti, Cinzia Monreale and Harvey Dean.
Inspired by erotic thrillers like
Fatal Attraction and
Basic Instinct, Marshall will write and direct.
Compulsion begins filming in Malta later this month, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
