Almost two decades after starring in Man on Fire together, Dakota Fanning and Denzel Washington reunite for The Equalizer 3.
It was January of this year when star Denzel Washington, whilst on the press rounds for The Tragedy Of Macbeth, revealed that another film in The Equalizer series was in the works. Not only that, but it will be releasing in September of next year.
For a while, it remained unclear whether Antoine Fuqua would be returning to the directorās chair for the third time, resuming his creative partnership with Washington that has spanned several films including the first two Equalizer movies and 2001ās Training Day. With Fuquaās involvement now confirmed, more information has begun to emerge about the project, including casting. Dakota Fanning will be joining Washington in the film, resuming an on-screen partnership that began almost two decades ago when they both featured in Tony Scottās Man On Fire.
Weāre still waiting for some plot details to be revealed about the film, most notably regarding which goons Washingtonās ex-marine, Robert McCall, will be dishing out his own unique brand of justice to this time. In the first film it was the Russian mob whilst in the second, things got more personal as a group of McCallās former squadmates went rogue. When we hear more, you can be sure weāll let you know.
