A live action musical version of Snow White is set to start filming next year.
Disney remains not on the shy side when it comes to exploring its back catalogue of animated hits, with a view of turning them into live action features. We’ve got Mulan arriving next year, along with new takes on Lady & The Tramp on Disney+ before the year is out.
Add too to the list Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs too, although this one’s still a little way off. It’s been known that Disney was working on a live action adaptation of the story, and now it looks like that’ll be landing in 2021.
The news comes from The DisInsider, which suggests that with production getting underway in Canada next March, a March 2021 or October 2021 release date is now likely.
Marc Webb is directing the movie, working from a script by Erin Cressida Wilson. The music is coming from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
There’s no word yet on casting, but when an announcement is made, you’re unlikely to miss it…
