The trailer for Doctor Who’s second 60th anniversary special Wild Blue Yonder gives absolutely nothing away.

Now that we’ve all had some time to digest the episode of Doctor Who that undoubtedly had the most pressure riding on it, containing as it it the return of Russell T Davies, David Tennant and Tate (not to mention behind the scenes bigwigs Julie Gardner, Phil Collinson and composer Murray Gold), we can begin to look ahead to next week.

(Our review of The Star Beast is here – with spoilers – if you want our thoughts on it).

All the trailers we’ve seen this far have predominantly contained footage from The Star Beast and The Giggle. Thus, the shroud of secrecy surrounding Wild Blue Yonder is creating huge speculation as to quite what we’re in store for. Even the promo that’s been released – that’s below – is keeping things very close to its chest. Tennant and Tate have very much done the reading though, and react to the unknown foe in the traditional way.

The synopsis, such as it is, reads as follows:

The Tardis takes the Doctor and Donna to the furthest edge of adventure. To escape, they must face the most desperate fight of their lives, with the fate of the universe at stake.

And that’s just about all we know at the moment.

Wild Blue Yonder premieres on Saturday 2nd December at 18:30 on BBC One. We’d expect a few more teases to come to light through the week, as is the norm with Doctor Who, but for the minute, this is all you’re getting.
