McG will helm body swap comedy Family Leave for Netflix, and the first casting details for the film have also been confirmed.

McG and Netflix seems to be a winning combination. The director has helmed three features for the streaming service so far – The Babysitter, Rim Of The World and The Babysitter: Killer Queen – all of which were seemingly hugely successful. A fourth, The Uglies, based on the dystopian novel by Scott Westerfield and starring Joey King, is currently in production.

There is now a fifth film to add to the slate, with the news that McG will helm Family Leave. This particular film follows “Jess and Bill Walker, who are doing their best to keep their family connected as their children grow older, more independent, and more distant. When a chance encounter with an astrological reader causes the family to wake up to a full body switch, on the morning of the most important day of each of their lives, can the Walkers unite to land a promotion, college interview, record deal and soccer tryout?”

Ed Helms and Jennifer Garner will headline the production.

Black Adam writer Adam Sztykiel is penning the latest draft of the script, working from a screenplay by Victoria Strouse.

Family Leave doesn’t currently have a release date, but it will eventually land on Netflix, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
