Elf is 20 years old? Can’t be true. However, this Christmas, a formal 20th birthday re-release is being arranged…

Bit early to talk about the festive season? Well, perhaps. But it’s not stopping film companies planning which of their wares they’re looking to put on the big screen at the end of the year. Warner Bros for one has gone through its archives, and decided it’s high time that Elf had a full, proper cinema re-release. As such, for its 20th – 20th! – birthday this very year, that’s exactly what it’s going to get.

Elf is due to land back in cinemas on Friday 8th December, it’s been revealed. Warner Bros already issued the film on 4K disc last year as well, and in fairness, it’s not been too tricky to find a screening of Elf around Christmastime for the last few years. But hey! Should be even easier this year.
