Whether aliens even exist at all appears to be the hook for the upcoming thriller Encounter, featuring Riz Ahmed.
After his sensational turn in Sound Of Metal last year, Riz Ahmed is back with another drama that will be premiering on Amazon’s Prime Video service. Encounter sees him cast as a soldier on a secret mission with his two boys, in a world that may or may not be under threat from alien invaders. The unreliable narrator aspect of the story already feels like an integral and intriguing element of the film.
The film has been written by Michael Pearce, who scripted the thrilling Beast, starring Jessie Buckley. It launches on December 10th and co-stars Rory Cochrane, Lucian-River Chauhan and Aditya Geddada.

A decorated Marine goes on a rescue mission to save his two young sons from an unhuman threat. As their journey takes them in increasingly dangerous directions, the boys will need to leave their childhoods behind.
