Fast & Furious 11 is reportedly going back to basics with a measly budget of $200 million. More details here.

The 11th Fast & Furious film, which is currently slated for release in 2025, is reportedly Vin Diesel’s last as Dominic Toretto. Aside from 2 Fast 2 Furious, Diesel has appeared in every other Fast & Furious film, including a cameo in Tokyo Drift.

The news comes from industry insider Jeff Sneider (spotted by World Of Reel). Sneider’s report also mentions that the next film will be a considerably more scaled back effort, with a budget of only $200 million.

Of course, the words ‘only’ and ‘$200 million’ don’t usually go together, but considering the budget for Fast X was reportedly $340 million, it’s a pretty big cut. Then again, Fast X received middling to negative reviews and grossed $714 million worldwide, which wasn’t quite enough to make the film profitable. You can read our thoughts on the film here

It was reported at first that there would be two more sequels following Fast X to close out the franchise, but after Fast X faced a lot of issues behind the scenes and wasn’t the success Universal wanted it to be, Fast & Furious 11, still untitled, will act as the final chapter in the franchise.

Spin-offs are in the making, one of them reportedly starring Dwayne Johnson, who played Luke Hobbs in five of the Fast & Furious films as well as a spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw.

Fast X ended on quite the cliffhanger which we won’t spoil here, but one surprising detail is that Jason Momoa – who played the maniacal villain Dante – won’t be returning for the next film according to Sneider.

We’re sure whoever’s writing Fast & Furious 11 will come up with a way to acknowledge his absence. We know frighteningly little of the next Fast & Furious film, but we’re sure everything is fine.

Fast & Furious 11 will be in cinemas 4th April, 2025. Probably.
