Weāre off to London for two different awards ceremonies taking place at the same time, as Film Stories picks up posh nominations.
If there’s one thing this website is rubbish at – well, one of a few things – it’s self-promotion. But dammit. When you’re an independent that started from absolutely nothing just over five years ago, it doesn’t pay to be shy.
As such, we’re somewhat humbled and yet secretly pleased to have been nominated for two different awards tonight, in two different places.
Firstly, the 2024 Publisher Podcast Awards have nominated Film Stories for Best Entertainment Podcast. We’re up against some tough competition there, including HBO’s official Succession podcast and The Penguin Podcast, but dammit, we’re going with – and we mean it – it’s really lovely to be nominated against such a strong field.
You can see the full shortlist here.
Then, just up the road, the Association Of Online Publishers is holding the kind of black tie event that we feel entirely not at home at (apparently it’s not the done thing to turn up in a Kevin Costner T-shirt). Remarkably, Film Stories has been nominated in the Best Use Of Audio category, against, er, The Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mirror amongst others.
Hereās the full list. Like we say, it’s nice to be nominated!
Fingers crossed that a) we don’t show ourselves up, and b) don’t do anything to stop us being invited back…
