Patti LuPone, who played Lilia in Marvel’s Agatha All Along, says season 2 won’t be happening. More on the actress’ comments below.

We were big fans of Agatha All Along, Marvel’s latest TV effort, but the show seems to have failed to catch the attention of viewers. The series was reported to have been the second-least watched Marvel show on Disney+, along with Echo. Agatha All Along, which starred Kathryn Hahn as the titular witch, did garner solid word of mouth and favourable reviews from critics, but it seems that the streaming numbers had nothing to do with the decision on whether or not weā€™d see Agatha again.

Patti Lupone, who played Lilia in the series, chatted to Andy Cohen on his podcast (here via The Wrap) about the series and its future.

“There won’t be one,” LuPone revealed when talking about a potential season 2. LuPone was among us who wanted another season but creator Jac Schaffer wouldn’t budge.

“[Schaffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons,’” LuPone told Cohen. “She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of Wanda Vision and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.”

There we have it. Even if Agatha All Along was a streaming hit, another season seems unlikely. We never got a second season of WandaVision either, despite that being a hit, so perhaps Schaffer has enough pull at Marvel to stop them from pressing forward on more seasons with her.

It’s disappointing news, especially as Agatha All Along proved Marvel still had it when it came to their TV shows. Marvel or Disney+ haven’t officially said anything about the future of Agatha All Along, but LuPone seems to be a reliable source on this one. We’d love it if she was proven wrong and we got a meaty new season of the witchy fantasy series.
