Film Stories Live shows are back for 2025. Tickets available here, and info too if you want a Film Stories show near youā¦
As well podcasts, magazines and this very website, Film Stories is also a live show. A 90-minute live show, where editor and founder Simon Brew takes to the stage and nerds on about movies. We explore what’s going on in the world of film and tell a few film stories. We also try and bring in local filmmakers to tell their tales of what they’re up to as well.
Each show ends with a – don’t get your hopes up – sort of quiz, that comes with some of the most dreadful prizes you’ll find at such an event. But the idea is we talk films, have some laughs, and all walk away looking forward to the next time.
Film Stories Live, then, is heading back to the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham every three months in 2025. On sale now are the following dates:
Wednesday 5th March
Wednesday 4th June
The shows have been rated 12A, which means we’re allowed one extreme swear word. We’ll perhaps have a vote on the night as to what that is. They start at 7.30pm
To book tickets, head to the Midlands Arts Centre booking page RIGHT HERE. Hopefully that link is subtle enough.
Also, if there are independent cinemas around the UK who want to host a Film Stories Live night, then do get in touch. One of the key foundations of the Film Stories project is to nerd out about movies outside of London, where shows like this already exist. Have a car, have boxes of magazines, happy to travel if you think you can sell the tickets!
Likewise, if you’re an independent filmmaker who wants to come along and chat on stage, get in touch. Opportunity really matters to us.
Contact Simon at simon at filmstories co dot uk if that sounds of interest. And we hope to see you at one of the shows.
