The Nun 2 is on the way, and the first cast members for the new sequel have been confirmed.
The Nun followed a priest with a haunted past who was sent, along with Sister Irene – a novice on the threshold of her final vows – to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun. Spinning out from The Conjuring saga, it proved to be a huge hit in its own right. As such, we’re getting another Nun.
The official synopsis for The Nun 2 reads as follows:
1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit The Nun follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face to face with the demonic force Valak – the demon nun.
We now know that Anna Popplewell and Katelyn Rose Downey will headline the film.
Michael Chaves, who helmed the most recent entry in The Conjuring franchise – The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me – will direct from a screenplay by Akela Coope, Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. Chaves’ film pushed the franchise over the two billion dollar mark, making it the highest grossing horror franchise of all time. The creator of The Conjuring universe, James Wan, is co-producing the film alongside Peter Safran.
The Nun 2 is scheduled to be released on 8th September 2023, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
