Tragic true story The Silent Twins is heading to the big screen, and here’s the first trailer for the film.

The Silent Twins is the kind of story that is so intriguing, it can only be true. The film will tell the story of June and Jennifer Gibbons, twins who, for 14 years, refused to speak to anybody except each other. As they begin to turn to petty crime, they are sentenced to 11 years in Broadmoor Hospital.

Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and Tamara Lawrence star alongside Nadine Marshall, Treva Etienne, Michael Smiley, Jodhi May, Jack Bandeira, Kinga Preis, Amarah-Jae St Aubyn, Tony Richardson and Declan Joyce.

Agnieszka Smoczyńska directs from a script by Say When writer Andrea Seigel, which is in turn adapted from the book of the same name by Marjorie Wallace. The story was previously brought to television via the BBC’s Screen Two strand in 1986, an early project for Copycat director Jon Amiel.

The Silent Twins will be released in the UK on the 9th December. Watch the trailer below…
