On top of the new Crystal Lake TV series, the so-called Jason Universe is set to expand to video games, immersive experiences and more. More on the Friday The 13th adjacent news below.

Deadline reports that Horror Inc., the original owners of the Friday The 13th brand, are looking to expand the Jason Universe. Plans for it include expanding into games, merchandise, immersive experiences and more.

“We’re focused on honoring the legacy while elevating the fan experience and appealing to today’s horror audiences as we develop new ways to watch, interact and engage with Jason Universe,” said Robbie Barsamian, VP of Horror, Inc.

Friday The 13th has recently been in the news as A24 is currently developing a brand-new TV series based on the infamous 80s slasher. Bryan Fuller was due to act as the showrunner for the series, but exited the show in early May due to what can only be described as creative differences.

“For reasons beyond our control, A24 has elected to go a different way with the material,” Fuller wrote in an Instagram post on 8th May. “We hope the final product will be something Friday The 13th fans all over the world will enjoy.”

The series is still going forward, but no new showrunner has been announced. The Jason Universe is also pushing forward and Deadline reports that more announcements should be trickling in throughout the year.

“With the unique ability to remain at the forefront of pop culture for 44 years, Jason continues to top charts as one of the scariest villains of all time with strong global awareness across multiple generations thanks to billions of TikTok views plus millions and millions of gamers and movie fans.  We can’t wait to introduce new Jason Universe activations to these amazing fans,” said Sheri Conn, Global GM of Horror, Inc.
