Buzz Lightyear is speeding back to a cinema near you this summer – here’s the new trailer for Lightyear.
In 1995’s Toy Story, Tom Hanks’ Woody the Cowboy famously said of fellow toy Buzz Lightyear’s impressive ‘flight’ through the skies, “that’s not falling… that’s falling with style.”
Whether Woody was right or not depends on whether you’re on Team Woody or Team Buzz, but this summer, the question of whether Buzz Lightyear can fly will be unequivocally answered.
June marks the release of Lightyear, the Pixar movie that is being dubbed as the definitive origin tale for Toy Story favourite, Buzz Lightyear. Only, Lightyear isn’t the tale of the toy Buzz Lightyear, rather the space ranger that he’s based on. Anyway, the full trailer for Lightyear has arrived ahead of the film’s launch. This action-packed preview of the upcoming Pixar film follows the superb teaser, which gave us our first glimpse of Lightyear’s spaceship, and memorably, his hair.
Lightyear is directed by Pixar veteran animator, Angus MacLane, who was also a co-director on Finding Dory.
Tim Allen has of course been replaced by Chris Evans, who stars alongside Keke Palmer, Dale Soules and Taika Waititi, Peter Sohn as Buzz’s robot sidekick, Sox, whilst Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez and Isiah Whitlock Jr also feature.
Here’s that trailer. And by the looks of it, this might be that rarest of modern things: a Pixar film that gets a cinema release…
