Irish ghost comedy Extra Ordinary is being adapted for TV by Animal Pictures – Natasha Lyonne and Maya Rudolph’s production company.

2019 comedy Extra Ordinary saw Maeve Higgins play Rose, a driving instructor with supernatural talents. When the daughter of a local man is set to be used as a sacrifice by a washed-up musician as part of a Satanic pact, Rose must save her life.

The Irish comedy is now going from big screen to small, as it’s being adapted for TV by Animal Pictures. The production company was founded by actors Natasha Lyonne and Maya Rudolph, who have both have a fair bit of comedic talent themselves. It’s no wonder they’re interested in adapting this sort of source material.

Their company was set up in 2018 alongside President Danielle Renfrew Behrens, and it currently has a multi-year deal with Apple. It’s possible, then, that this could be going to Apple TV+ for its eventual release.
