Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre

It doesn’t look like the film will be seeing the inside of a cinema in the UK but at least we have a release date for Operation Fortune.

Guy Ritchie’s next film, Operation Fortune was removed from the release schedules by its distributor all the way back in February of last year as STX Films began to run into all kinds of difficulties. Since then, we’ve been patiently waiting for this one to find its way to a release date as it sounds like lots of fun: it boasts a packed cast including Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone, and Hugh Grant, not to mention a ridiculous premise. All in all, the project looks like it could be wildly entertaining.

The movie released last month in lots of territories, but not the US, nor here in the UK. Now though, some release news. The film will debut in the US in cinemas on March 3rd but sadly, it looks like it’s skipping the big screen here in the UK (along with Ireland and France) and heading straight to Amazon Prime Video on April 7th, 2023.

The movie itself sounds brilliantly nuts, with Statham’s character, an MI6 agent who goes by the rather brilliant name of Orson Fortune, being paired up with a CIA tech expert played by Plaza, to stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that could presumably end all life as we know it.

We can’t wait to see this one and it looks like we’ll finally get to do so in just a few more weeks. If you haven’t yet checked out Wrath Of Man on Prime Video, then get out the popcorn and prepare yourself for a Jason Statham/Guy Ritchie double bill…
