Heading to cinemas in February is a film that features a shaggy-looking Harrison Ford next to an also shaggy-looking dog. It’s all for the movie The Call Of The Wild, an adaptation of the novel by Jack London, that’s been brought to the screen by writer Michael Green and director Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch, How To Train Your Dragon).
The movie arrives in cinemas in February, and we’ve got the official trailer and synopsis. Here’s a glimpse as to what’s in store, with the trailer first.
And here’s that synopsis…
Adapted from the beloved literary classic, 20th Century Fox’s THE CALL OF THE WILD vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail delivery dog sled team–and later its leader–Buck experiences the adventure of a lifetime, ultimately finding his true place in the world and becoming his own master.
Note that the pooch in this one is fully CG. The human cast is rounded out by Dan Stevens, Omar Sy, Karen Gillian, Bradley Whitford and Colin Woodell. The movie lands on February 14th 2020.
