Kevin Costner has revealed his first post Horizon film project, a thriller entitled Headhunters, Costner will star, co-write and produce.

Nobody can accuse Kevin Costner of being lazy. He has financed, produced, co-written, directed and co–starred in Horizon: An American Saga, which was conceived as a four film series, each one pushing the three hour mark.

The second instalment was pulled from the release schedule in August before finally premiering at the Venice Film Festival in September, but nevertheless Costner is currently pressing ahead with chapters three and four, with the plan being to shoot them back to back to save on production costs. There is still no confirmation as to when we might see chapter two in the UK. The first film is available to purchase on Amazon Prime

According to Deadline, Costnerā€™s next project will be a thriller called Headhunters, which he will co-produce through his company Territory Pictures with Scott Steindorff of Stone Village Films.

The synopsis reads as follows:

A washed-up American ex-pat with a mysterious past winds up living in Bali, Indonesia. He gathers a group of surfers led by a local photographer to find the perfect wave at an uncharted island — which winds up being the domicile to an ancient tribe of headhunters who are protecting their land at all costs.

It will mark the directorial debut of cinematographer Steven Holleran, who co-wrote the script with Costner.

Costner will also star, currently the only other confirmed cast member is Station Elevenā€™s Daniel Zovatt.

Production on chapters three and four of Horizon is expected to begin early in 2025, so we wouldnā€™t expect to see Headhunters in cinemas before 2026 at the earliest. Weā€™ll keep you updated as we hear more about both the UK release of Horizon: Chapter Two and the development of Headhunters.
