The West End show Heathers: The Musical is coming to cinemas for one night only – it’s showing on 28th March.

In what feels like a full circle moment, West End show Heathers: The Musical, a stage adaptation of 1989 cult classic Heathers, is being shown in cinemas. It’s coming to the big screen for one night only on 28th March.

The story of the musical and film follows Veronica Gray, a student at Westberg High, who dreams of being as popular as the pretty but cruel Heathers. The social hierarchy gets a major shakeup when the mysterious rebel J.D. comes to town. The film starred Winona Rider and Christian Slater in the lead roles, with Kim Walker, Lisanne Falk and Shannen Doherty as the three Heathers.

Recorded in London venue The Other Palace, Heathers: The Musical will feature the 2022 cast. Ailsa Davidson plays Veronica with Simon Gordon as J.D., while Maddison Firth, Vivian Panka and Teleri Hughes play Heathers Chandler, Duke and McNamara respectively.

UPDATE: It’s also getting a Blu-ray release too, on June 5th. More on that here.

Director Andy Fickman said of the release “Directing Heathers: The Musical has been a career high for me. So when we got a chance to film the Stage Capture at our beloved theatre in London where it all began – The Other Palace – that was an even bigger high – and thanks to our partners at Bill Kenwright Studios, Village Roadshow and now Kaleidoscope we get a chance to share that the magic at cinemas all across the UK – I can’t stop smiling and I hope audiences feel the same way!”

Tickets for the cinema screenings can be booked here.
