Alien: Romulus is coming to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in December it’s been revealed: more on the release here.

Heading into cinemas with an R-rating, and following a bunch of films in the saga that had been on the divisive side, Alien: Romulus turned out to be quite the success. Debates continue at to the quality of the film, and its decisions involving fan service. Personally, I had a whole lot of fun with the film, warts and all. I’m roughly in line with Ryan Lambie’s review of the film, which you can read here.

Disney, too, is giving a full physical media release for the film. I’m hearing that Alien: Romulus will be on video on demand this month, but as a physical media nerd, it’s the disc release I’m looking forward to.

2nd December 2024 is the date to mark, and Alien: Romulus will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and Steelbook too.

The DVD release is here.

The Blu-ray release is here.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release is here.

The Steelbook is here.

There are special features across the Blu-ray and 4K discs. And they’re as follows…

Return to Horror: Crafting Alien: Romulus
4-Part Look: The Director’s Vision/Creating The Story/Casting The Faces/Constructing The World,
Featurettes: Inside The Xenomorph Showdown/Alien: A Conversation, Extended and Alternate Scenes.

The discs are available for preorder now, and for now, we’ll leave you with the synopsis…

Horror master Fede Alvarez takes the phenomenally successful Alien franchise back to its iconic roots. In this truly terrifying sci-fi horror-thriller, a group of young colonizers, scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, come face-to-face with the most relentless and deadly life form in the universe.

Expect the film on Disney+ too of course, likely a week or two before the disc release. Don’t hold us to that, though.
