This is almost a little bit like the sort-of old days. Project Hail Mary, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s hugely successful screen adaptation of Andy Weir’s book, arrived in cinema screens in the middle of March. You won’t, though, be able to get it on physical media until 10th August, in the UK at least.
Backed by Sony and Amazon MGM, and with Ryan Gosling and Sandra Huller in the lead roles, Project Hail Mary ended up with a far longer cinema run than expected though, for the very welcome reason that lots of people wanted to see it. We’re seeing the same thing happen with Obsession at the moment, too.
Appreciating there was a digital release a little while ago now, Project Hail Mary lands on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD over the coming weeks. No word on any extra features or anything at the moment, but the physical media release itself has now gone up for preorder.

Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.
