The Friday The 13th prequel is now available to watch in the UK, but showrunner Brad Caleb Kane already has ideas for Crystal Lake season 2.
The US has been able to watch the Friday The 13th prequel series Crystal Lake since last week and UK viewers are getting access today (19th October), but showrunner Brad Caleb Kane is already looking ahead.
The series follows iconic killer Jason Voorhees’ mother Pamela’s (Linda Cardellini) earlier years and Kane revealed to Deadline that he already has “ideas for season 2”. Careful, though, as Deadline’s article includes some spoilers so tread carefully with it, but we’ll keep this spoiler-free.
“Obviously, it’s not just Pam’s story, it’s Crystal Lake, so you have all of the peripheral characters who are interesting to me,” Kane told the outlet. “You have the opportunity for this to be more of a Twin Peaks-y kind of vibe, with Ralph and with Dorf and Trudy and all of those characters. There’s a lot more to get into with them. But obviously, the nexus is always gonna be Pam and Jason and their story.”
Twin Peaks-y vibe? Intriguing.

The showrunner did say the series could eventually even “run into” the events of Sean S. Cunningham’s original 1980 slasher, but not in season 2.
“There’s more story to tell, for the residents of Crystal Lake and to the extent that Linda wants to continue the journey with us, with Pam. So, we’ll see.”
Crystal Lake received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics with particular praise going towards Cardellini’s performance as the murderous, anguished mother of Jason. Peacock, the home of the series in the US, hasn’t commented on a potential Crystal Lake season 2, but the series is currently the highest rated Friday The 13th project to date.
All eight episodes of Crystal Lake are now available to watch on Sky and NOW.
