Helena Bonham Carter joins Anthony Hopkins and Johnny Flynn in the upcoming Holocaust drama.

Helena Bonham Carter has joined the cast of One Life, the upcoming drama that is set during the Holocaust and is ‘inspired by the true story of Nicholas Winton, a London stockbroker who devised an elaborate plan to rescue hundreds of children in Czechoslovakia from invading Nazis.’

The title originates from the Jewish Talmud, “Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire” and is based on the book If It’s Not Impossible… The Life of Sir Nicholas Winton, which was penned by Winton’s daughter, Barbara Winton. The character of Winton will reportedly be portrayed at two stages in his life, with Flynn set to play the younger version and Bonham Carter set to play his mother. That presumably means that Hopkins will play the older version of Winton.

As an older man, Winton famously appeared on the BBC program That’s Life in the 1980s where he was surprised by an entire audience of people whose lives he had managed to save. It’s one of those enduringly-iconic TV moments and sure to make it into the film in some way, shape or form. Jonathan Pryce, Romola Garai, and Alex Sharp are all on board too, but no release date has yet been announced. We’ll let you know more on this one as we hear it.
