Heretic also stars Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East as the two missionaries who knock on Hugh Grant’s door, only to find themselves unable to leave.
Grant, best known these days for his comedic roles, is flexing his acting muscles here by playing the villain of the film. It seems that his house is like a maze as the two young women try to escape it. He also asks them to pick between “belief” and “disbelief” if they wish to leave ā something tells us both options lead to something gruesome.
Heretic is set to hit cinemas in the US from 15th November and UK audiences can catch the film from 22nd November.
Here’s the official synopsis: Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed (Hugh Grant), becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
The film’s writer-director duo is best known for their involvement in the A Quiet Place franchise as well as writing and directing last year’s dinosaur film 65. Beck and Woods also wrote the script for The Boogeyman, which also starred Sophie Thatcher.
