Hugh Grant headlines Heretic, which is coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK in February. More details hereā¦
There’s not a word that’s been coined yet to describe the last decade of Hugh Grant’s big screen work, but few are disputing that he seems to have found a fresh seam of creativity to explore. Gone are the romcoms of old, in comes self-deprecation opposite a beloved bear, and now, a lead in a psychological chiller that’s proven really rather successful.
The film is Heretic, where Grant stars opposite Chloe East and Sophie Thatcher. On paper, it’s the kind of film that sits in the Blumhouse-style of modern horror: a relatively small cast, a contained location, and a modest budget. But for the vast bulk of its running time, Heretic is very strong. Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, it’s also proven to be a box office success too.
So much so that the film will be getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray physical media release in the UK. Its distributor, Entertainment In Video, has only released one 4K disc to date to our memory (Civil War, last year), so this was no foregone conclusion.
The disc is set to release on 24th February, and you can find it available to purchase here.
The pack comes with a Blu-ray in the box as well, and on said Blu-ray, you can find a commentary track with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.
Heretic on 4K disc is available to order now. We’ll leave you for the minute with the synopsis for the film…
Two young missionaries (Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East) are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed (Hugh Grant). Made to choose between belief and disbelief, they find themselves plunged into the darkest labyrinths of Reed’s mind and a deadly game of cat-and-mouse in this twisted horror from writer-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (“A Quiet Place”) .
