Harrison Ford will return to play Indiana Jones one last time, with the new movie set to start shooting next year. After what feels like umpteen delays, production will finally begin on Indiana Jones 5 next spring, it’s been announced. Harrison Ford will return in the title role for the final time. Furthermore, it’s also been announced that this will be the final movie in the saga.

David Koepp had been working on the screenplay for the film when Steven Spielberg was set to direct. Spielberg though has passed on the directing baton in the big screen saga for the first time, with James Mangold now set to helm the movie. The film will conclude Indy’s story, although an inevitable reboot at some point down the line hasn’t been ruled out. However, the purposes of the here and now, the final movie in the series is going to land in cinemas in July 2022.
