As his turn as Paolo in House Of Gucci gets awards nominations, Jared Leto admits he’d like to tackle the role again in a prequel film.

Few pieces of acting work have been discussed quite as much in recent times as Jared Leto’s appearance in Ridley Scott’s House Of Gucci film. It’s, charitably, quite an odd piece of work, one that makes Al Pacino look positively subtle. And to the surprise of some, it’s been nominated for awards too.

Here’s a clip, in case you’ve not had, er, the pleasure…

In the film, he plays Paolo, the son of Al Pacino’s Aldo. And in a fresh interview, Leto has now admitted that he’d like to reprise the part in another film.

Talking to SiriusXM in the US, he admitted “I’d love to do a prequel to House Of Gucci”, a follow-up project where he’d co-star again with Pacino, the pair reprising their characters. “Just The Two Of Us we could call it”, he teases.

He talks in the interview about his joy at working with Pacino, who didn’t recognise him under all the prosthetics when they were introduced on set.

Whether Pacino and/or Ridley Scott are interested in returning remains to be seen. But as bizarre as the idea of a Leto-led spin-off movie may be, following his awards nominations for the role, we’d write nothing off.
