Filmmaker Jeff Nichols’ next project is moving forward at a remarkable pace. Having previously helmed Take Shelter and Mud, his next feature is an original story set in the 1960s. It will follow the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club as seen through the lives of its members. The club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life.
Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy and Elvis star Austin Butler will lead the film alongside Nichols’ regular collaborator Michael Shannon. Boyd Holbrook and Damon Herriman will also feature.
Nichols is directing from his own script, which is loosely based on The Bikeriders by Danny Lyon.
It is due to begin production soon, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
