Len Wiseman is set to direct a John Wick spin-off film.
Lionsgate has confirmed that it’s pressing ahead with its planned spin-off from the John Wick series of films. It goes by the name of Ballerina, and it’ll tell the story of the young female assassin we briefly see in John Wick: Chapter 3.
The narrative will follow said assassin on her mission for revenge against those who killed her family. It’s been written by Shay Hatten, and now we learn that Die Hard 4 and Underworld director Len Wiseman has signed on the dotted line to direct the film.
The core John Wick creatives remain involves, with Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski all named as producers at the moment.
No word yet on when to expect the movie, but Lionsgate wants it relatively quickly. Separately, John Wick: Chapter 4 is earmarked for May 2021.
