Jurassic World: Rebirth goes before the MPAA and gets its PG-13, with a few extra details about the movie coming to light.

Currently deep, deep in post-production is this summer’s seventh movie in the Jurassic Park saga, going by the name of Jurassic World: Rebirth. Penned by David Koepp and directed by Gareth Edwards (hot off the back of The Creator), the new movie came together in startlingly quick time for a big blockbuster, with Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali leading the ensemble.

Just because the film isn’t quite locked yet, doesn’t mean it can’t go before the Motion Picture Association of America to get some ratings guidance. Entirely expectedly, the film will be rated as PG-13 in the US (oh for an R-rated Jurassic Park movie), and we’re expecting the BBFC to give it a 12A here in the UK.

Still, a little indication of what to expect, outside of raging dinosaurs, can be found in the MPAA guidance. It’s rated the movie PG-13 for “for intense sequences of violence/action, bloody images, some suggestive references, language and a drug reference.”

Drug reference? Maybe a T-Rex takes a couple of paracetamol or something when its roaring gives itself a headache.

Jurassic World: Rebirth also seems to have a running time of 134 minutes, including credits. Considering the new Mission: Impossible movie is said to be touching three hours, that’s slightly easier on the old backside.

Anyway, the film is set for release in cinemas around the world on 2nd July 2025, and given that the first most of us had heard about it was back at the start of 2024, that’s a pretty impressive turnaround.

Here’s the UK teaser trailer for the movie, that popped up earlier this year…

And we’ll have a lot more on Jurassic World: Rebirth closer to its release, along with a few words from Gareth Edwards on the movie…
