Keanu Reeves is reuniting with the original director for Constantine 2, in a surprise announcement: more now.
In what might be the best news to come out of DC Studios in some time, we’re getting a sequel to Constantine. The original, released back in 2005, focused on Keanu Reeves as the titular exorcist as he battled an array of demons. Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Tilda Swinton, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Djimon Hounsou, Gavin Rossdale, and Peter Stormare also featured.
Reeves is reuniting with original director Francis Lawrence for the sequel, who made his directorial debut with the original. Akiva Goldsman will pen the screenplay and produce, alongside JJ Abrams though his company Bad Robot Productions.
Reeves has only gone from strength to strength since Constantine, from making his directorial debut with Man Of Tai Chi in 2013, to headlining the enormously popular John Wick franchise, the fourth instalment of which is due in cinemas on the 24th March 2023.
Constantine 2 will begin production soon, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
