Liam Neeson will reunite again with Neil Jordan, just as they’re done working on their latest film, Marlowe.

Liam Neeson said this week something to the effect that he’s done appearing in Star Wars movies. Whilst that might be true, the 70 year-old is definitely not done making every other kind of film ever, as he continues to demonstrate an impressive work rate for somebody who could be forgiven for wanting to kick back and take it easy.

Given that he’s moving into noir with his next film, the soon-to-release Marlowe, not to mention leading a proposed reboot of The Naked Gun, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Neeson might be moving away from the action movies that have been his stock in trade for the last couple of decades.

Think again. Whilst Neeson is reuniting again with Neil Jordan, the filmmaker behind Marlowe, their next project looks like it will be adrenaline-packed.

The project is called The Riker’s Ghost and Jordan has described it as “a unique take on the prison escape, a bare knuckle ride from incarceration to freedom, by someone who just wants to finish his term. The reluctant escapee will be played by Liam Neeson, and I can’t wait to explore this character with him.”

The film is set to shoot in September 2023 and as Jordan alluded to above, will see ‘Neeson play a convict set for release from prison who, when his lawyer is kidnapped, is forced to break out a terrorist. ‘

It all sounds pretty compelling to us so rest assured we’ll let you know more as we hear it. Marlowe releases in US cinems next week although we don’t have an official UK release date as of yet.
