Kathryn Newton has a dead lover and really great hair in the new trailer for Lisa Frankenstein. Watch it right here.
Zelda Williams’ Lisa Frankenstein is heading to cinemas next month and there’s a brand new trailer to celebrate it. We got a brief teaser last year, but the new trailer gives us something to sink our teeth into.
Kathryn Newton stars as a young woman who accidentally reanimates a corpse she has been fantasising about with her tanning bed and begins to mould him into the perfect gentleman caller. Things get bloody. Obviously.
Take a look at the hilarious new trailer below.
The cast of the film is to die for (pardon the pun). Newton is joined by Riverdale’s Cole Sprouse, Carla Cugino and Joe Chrest. The 80s vibes are immaculate in the trailer and makes us long for the days of really frizzy hair and endless supply of leg warmers.
The film is also penned by Diablo Cody, who proved with Jennifer’s Body that she is more than capable of writing piercingly funny horror. Jennifer’s Body has only grown in relevance and popularity since its 2005 release and we’re inclined to think that Lisa Frankenstein might also age like fine wine.
The film is directed by Zelda Williams, daughter of the late, great Robin Williams. This will be Williams’ feature directorial debut.
Here’s the official synopsis: “A coming of RAGE love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body) about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way.”
Lisa Frankenstein is heading to UK cinemas on the 1st of March, almost a month after its 9th of February US debut.
